About Us
The S.V.F.A.A.
We are an educational non-profit organization whose mission is to; Preserve the rich history and traditions of the fire-fighting profession by collecting, restoring, maintaining, and displaying vintage fire engines, tools and equipment and other fire fighting apparatus tools and equipment. Educate the general public regarding the history and traditions of the fire-fighting profession and the equipment historically used to fight fires. Honor those who have served in the fire-fighting profession.
History
The SOUTHERN VINTAGE FIRE APPARATUS ASSOCIATION is a chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America, a non profit educational organization founded in New York in 1957.
WHERE WE ARE
We are located in Birmingham, AL but have members in Georgia too. Our warehouse is located at 4500 5th Ave. South, Building "F", Birmingham, AL 35222. Our member's meeting is held there on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 PM. We are open Sunday afternoons in the summer months. Check the very top of the page for additional OPEN dates. There is no admission charge but donations are accepted. Please plan to visit our fire museum warehouse in the future!
